The Madison Capitols erupted for eight goals in an 8–1 win over the NTDP U17s. Madison scored five times in the opening 11 minutes with goals from Sam Kappell, Tyden Bergeson, Gavin Uhlenkamp, and Jackson Nevers.
Max Rider added one early in the second before Uhlenkamp, Ronan Buckberger, and Gustavs Griva sealed the win in the third. The Capitols went 3-for-3 on the power play and had 13 players record a point.
Caleb Heil earned his second win of the season in net, stopping 20 of 21 shots. It was the 12th time since 2014 that Madison has scored eight or more goals in a game.
Madison hits the road tomorrow to face off against Waterloo with puck drop scheduled for 6:35 pm.
