Madison picked up a point on the road but fell 3 to 2 in a shootout to Muskegon on Friday night.
Jackson Nevers opened the scoring early in the first on a setup from Stephen Cover and Jet Kwajah. After Muskegon tied the game in the second, Michael Tang scored twenty seven seconds into the third to put Madison back in front. The Lumberjacks answered a few minutes later to force overtime.
Neither team scored in the extra frame. Muskegon converted once in the shootout and Madison was held off the board.
The Capitols return to action Saturday to face off against the same Muskegon team.
