Madison completed a season sweep over Omaha on Saturday night with a 5-1 victory.
Bobby Cowan and
Ryker Lee shined for the Capitols in the win with each player scoring twice. In three matchups with the Lancers, Cowan was able to score three times this season and Lee five times. The duo is tied for the team lead in goals with 18 this season.
Diego Johnson scored the other goal for Madison in the win, his first since mid-October.
Drew Waterfield and
Egor Barabanov each had multi-assist nights in the win.
Madison went with
Caleb Heil in goal for the Caps on Saturday night. Heil stopped 16 of 17 shots by the Lancers sent his way.
The Capitols have a big stretch ahead in Middleton with eight of nine games being played at home. All of it starts this weekend with Madison hosting Chicago on Friday, the final matchup between the two teams. Then, the Capitols welcome in first place Dubuque for the first of four meetings between the two teams this season.
