The National Team Development Program U18s ended Madison's seven-game win streak on Friday night, beating the Madison Capitols 6-2.
The game was close up to the third period when both teams had two goals. However, NTDP scored in just under a minute, and they would go on to score four straight with Madison being unable to respond.Â
The Capitols couldn't capitalize on the two power plays they got, but still managed to outshoot NTDP by four.Â
Ryker Lee tried setting the tone early in the game, scoring twice in nearly 8 minutes and giving the Caps a 2-1 lead after the first period, but after NTDP tied it in the second, the game got away from the Caps and they couldn't come back.
The Capitols will get a chance to redeem themselves against the U18s later in March, where they will take them on at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.Â
Madison will be on the road for most of March, heading to Waterloo tomorrow, whom they shut out earlier in January, then Youngstown the week after.
