Madison punched their ticket to the 2025 Clark Cup Playoffs on Saturday night with a win over the USNTDP U18s. This marks the organization's second straight season in the playoffs and third time in four years.
Diego Johnson netted two goals in the game along with an assist to lead the way with three points for the Caps. The multi-goal game was Johnson's second of his career.
Joining Johnson on the scoreboard for Madison were Ryker Lee, Finn Brink, and Colton Jamieson as the Capitols snapped an eleven-game win streak for the NTDP U18s.
Caleb Heil stopped 29 of 31 sent his way in the game earning his 21st win of the regular season. He sits two back of the team's Tier I wins record for a single-season held by Simon Latkoczy with 23 in 2021-22.
Madison will stay in Michigan after splitting a two game series with the U18s to face off against the U17s on Sunday. If the Capitols were to win on Sunday, the team would tie the organization's single-season wins record at 33 joining the teams from 1986-87, 1988-89, and 2023-24.
