In an unfortunate end to their season, the Madison Capitols fell short in a 6-1 loss to the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Capitols struggled to contain Dubuque's offense and let up three straight goals in the second period.
The game looked promising after the first period, as both teams were tied 0-0, but Dubuque scored less than two minutes into the second period and they wouldn't let their foot off the gas, scoring three more times in the second and twice in the third period.Â
Mason Moe scored for the Caps about halfway through the second period, but the Caps were unable to build off this momentum, and Dubuque sealed the win with an empty net goal with less than ten seconds left.
The entire Capitols organization wants to thank the fans for their continued support of the team after what was the best season on the ice in team history.
