Madison Drops Game One in Fargo

The Madison Capitols traveled to Fargo, North Dakota, to face off against the Fargo Force in a two-game series this weekend. Friday night was the first of the two games. Fargo and Madison met earlier in the season in a game the Force won 4-3. Entering the weekend, Fargo was riding a four-game winning streak, while Madison looked to bounce back after its seven-game winning streak was snapped by Tri-City last weekend.

In front of a crowd of over 4,000, Fargo opened the scoring in this one, claiming the first five goals of the game. Madison did not get on the board until the third period when Lucas Prud'homme tallied his fifth goal of the season.

Caleb Heil started in net for the Capitols; he saved 16 of the 21 shots sent his way. Both teams recorded 21 shots on goal, with Fargo being able to find twine five times compared to Madison's lone goal. The Capitols return to Scheels Arena on Saturday to complete the two-game series with the Force.
