Des Moines Shuts Out Madison

The Capitols and Buccaneers split their weekend series

The Des Moines Buccaneers were back at Bob Suter's LEGACY20 Arena on Saturday night to complete the weekend series with the Madison Capitols. Madison took game one on Friday night, 2-1. Friday's win snapped the Capitols' three-game losing streak, as they looked to carry that momentum into Saturday.

There was no scoring for the first two periods in this one. Des Moines eventually got on the board late in the third period as Buccaneers leading goal scorer Ryan Seelinger would tally his 27th goal of the season, giving Des Moines the 1-0 advantage.

Seelinger's goal was the lone goal of the contest, resulting in a 1-0 loss for the Capitols. This was Madison's fourth time being shut out this year as they split the weekend pair with Des Moines. The Green Bay Gamblers will be in town on Sunday afternoon to cap off the three-in-three weekend in Madison.
