The Madison Capitols hosted the Tri-City Storm for the second time in as many days on Saturday night. Madison beat the Storm on Friday night courtesy of a Caleb Heil shutout. The Capitols entered Saturday riding a seven-game winning streak, the longest in the USHL.
Tri-City opened the scoring in this one via a shorthanded goal from Noah LaPointe 44 seconds into the game. The Storm would add another goal later in the first period as Tri-City's leading goal scorer, Ashton Dahm, tallied his 14th of the season.Â
Madison would eventually get on the board four minutes into the second period when Capitols blueliner Jet Kwajah deflected the puck into the net to make it 2-1. The Storm and Capitols would exchange goals in the final frame, resulting in a 3-2 win for the Storm.
Brady Krey got the start between the pipes for the Capitols. He saved 19 of the 22 shots sent his way.Â
The Capitols travel to Fargo, North Dakota, next weekend for a two-game series with the Force.
