Muskegon Blanks Madison, 3-0

The Capitols and Lumberjacks split their weekend set

The Madison Capitols fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks 3-0 on Saturday night at Trinity Health Arena in the second game of a two-game set. Madison recorded 22 shots on goal, all turned aside by Muskegon goaltender Carl Axellson, who earned his second shutout of the season.

Caleb Heil was named the game's second star after stopping 48 of 50 shots sent his way. Muskegon's third goal came on an empty net.

Madison and Muskegon split the weekend series. The Capitols remain sixth in the Eastern Conference, seven points ahead of Chicago for the final Clark Cup Playoff spot. Madison is on the road again next weekend for a two-game series against Sioux City.
