The Madison Capitols visited the Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday night at Tyson Events Center. Madison entered the game after securing a playoff berth with a win over Sioux City on Friday.
In the opening frame, Max Rider and Darik Olson traded goals, knotting the game at one apiece. Sioux City took control in the second period, scoring five straight goals to build a 6-1 lead. Madison attempted a late push in the third, scoring three consecutive goals to cut the deficit to two, but could not complete the comeback. The Musketeers added an empty-net goal to secure the 7-4 win.
The Capitols will close out the regular season next weekend with a home-and-home series against the Green Bay Gamblers.
