Gamblers Hold Off Capitols, 3-2

Madison travels to Green Bay on Saturday for the final game of the regular season

The Madison Capitols hosted the Green Bay Gamblers on Friday night at Bob Suter's LEGACY20 Arena. Green Bay held off Madison for a 3-2 win in the first of a two-game set.

Nick Knutson opened the scoring for the Gamblers, netting the lone goal of the opening frame. After a scoreless second period, Capitols defenseman Jet Kwajah tied the game 43 seconds into the third. Later in the period, Geno Carcone and Ethan Drabicki scored back-to-back goals to give Green Bay a two-goal lead. Caleb Pittsley responded with his 11th goal of the season to bring Madison within one, but the Capitols were unable to find the equalizer.

Madison travels to the Resch Center on Saturday to face the Gamblers for their final regular season game.
