The Madison Capitols fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks, 6-2, in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday night. The loss ends the Capitols' 2025-26 campaign one win short of reaching the Clark Cup Finals for the first time since 2021.
Madison jumped out to a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Harper Frey and Caleb Pittsley. It was all Muskegon from there, as the Lumberjacks rattled off six unanswered goals, including four on the power play.
Caleb Heil finished the postseason with a league best .944 save percentage and the second-best goals-against average at 1.95. The Capitols closed the playoffs with a 7-4 record.
