The Madison Capitols fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks, 5-3, on Saturday night at Trinity Health Arena in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Madison won Game 1 on Friday, 2-1.
Madison struck first when Stephen Cover's shot found the back of the net two minutes into the game. The Lumberjacks responded later in the opening frame, tying the game at one heading into the first intermission.
Muskegon carried that momentum into the second period, scoring two goals to take a 3-1 lead. Michael Tang scored his first postseason goal to bring Madison within one entering the third. Midway through the final frame, Lucas Prud'homme tied the game at three. Muskegon answered to regain the lead and added an empty-net goal to secure the win.
The series will shift to Madison next weekend for Games 3 and 4.
