The Capitols announced on Tuesday that Max Rider has signed his Standard Player Development Agreement to skate for the team during the 2026-27 season.

Rider skated in 58 regular season games with Madison during the 2025-26 season, recording 33 points. That included 16 goals which ranked second on the team behind Sam Kappell. In the playoffs, Rider added four assists in eleven games.

Rider has played in 93 career games across two seasons in the USHL, all with the Capitols, totaling 42 points (20-22=42). He has skated in 16 Clark Cup playoff games with Madison.

The forward from St. Louis Park, Minnesota, is committed to play college hockey at Western Michigan.
