Capitols Drop 5-3 Game to Green Bay

The Capitols started off their Thanksgiving weekend on Wednesday night with a trip to Green Bay. This would mark the first of five straight on the road for Madison and end a span of three straight against the Gamblers.

In the first period, Green Bay got out to a hot start scoring three unanswered in the first eight minutes of the game. Madison quickly responded on Quinn Finley's eighth of the season to make it 3-1. Green Bay expanded their lead to 4-1 right before the half way point of the period. This remained the score until under a minute to go in the first period. That's when the Capitols found themselves on the power play. Andrew Kuzma tallied his second of the season, which was also Madison's second of the game, to make it 4-2 headed into intermission.

The second period had the Capitols scoring quickly into the period to bring the team back within one. This time it was Jack Musa finding the back of the net for his eighth of the season. Although the goal was scored quickly into the period, it would be the lone tally in the middle frame.

Goals were scored quickly in the first and second period, but neither was as fast as Green Bay's opening goal in the third that extended their lead back to two. The goal at 36 seconds into the third became the lone tally in the third as Green Bay won by a 5-3 margin.

Madison drops to 5-9-1 on the season with a weekend series in Muskegon to come this Friday and Saturday. Puck drop this weekend in Muskegon is scheduled for 6:10 pm CT on both nights.
