Madison traveled to Sioux City for a Clark Cup Final rematch on Friday night. This is the first of a two-game Western Conference swing for the Capitols to end 2022. The last time that the Caps faced off against a team from the opposite conference was in September at the Fall Classic.
Similar to Wednesday against Green Bay, the game was very back and forth through the first two periods. Although Madison never led, the team was able to battle back from two separate one-goal deficits with goals from Max Nagel in the first and Brendan Lamb in the second.
Just like the game against Green Bay, a power play goal early in the third became the difference with Sioux City winning 4-2 after scoring an empty netter in the final moments of the third. Madison ends the 2022 portion of this season's schedule tomorrow night at 6:05 pm in Sioux Falls.
