Chris Delaney found a pair of goals on Friday night in the Capitols 6-1 win over Omaha. For Delaney, six of his nine points have come at home this season in the five games at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena.
Andrew Kuzma, Sam Rice, Brendan Lamb, and James Hong also scored in the Capitols 6-1 win over Omaha. Madison's six goals net the Caps their fifth five or more goal performance of the season.
Kuzma and Hong's goals both came on the man advantage for Madison. This makes it back-to-back games for the Capitols scoring on the man advantage. Prior to the power play goal in Youngstown on Sunday, Madison had been on a 1/18 stretch on the man advantage, 5.6%. Since then, the team has a 3/7 clip, which is good enough for a 42.9% rate. Kuzma now sits in a tie for third in the league for power play goals on the season with four.
Another start and another great performance for Patriks Berzins who had only one blemish in the win. The blemish came at 0.8 seconds in period number one off of a deflection from his own player. Berzins improves to 5-1-0-0 on the year, but also now sits in the league lead in both goals against average and save percentage at 1.51 and .953 respectively.
Sam Rice's goal was the first in his USHL career. His goal eventually became the game winning goal in the contest as well.
Although he has not been able to find the back of the net quite yet, Jack Brandt now leads the team in assists this season with eight. The Colgate commit's three-assist performance on Friday night propelled him past Jake Rozzi for that title.
Austin Burnevik has been striking at a point per game average since his game tying goal on October 8th in Lincoln. He tallied a pair of assists in the win on Friday night, both on Delaney's goals.
Madison looks to complete their first sweep of the season on Saturday night against Omaha. The team is 0-1-1-0 in games following a win against the same opponent. They'll look to complete the sweep in front of a huge crowd on Saturday night as it's the team's annual Military Appreciation Night presented by Alliant Power. Throughout the night, we will be raising funds for Badger Honor Flight including auctioning off the game-worn jerseys, which can be bid on here: https://fans.winwithdash.com/auction/654514c59012b900086111be
