Coming off of a 5-2 victory on Friday, the Caps were in search of their first sweep of the season on Saturday night. The Capitols were once again unable to take the broom out against a team.
James Hong struck in the first period for his 39th goal of his career. The Hong tally was scored at the same time as the Delaney game opening goal on Friday mark. The 5:05 mark of period number one once again gave Madison the lead in period one. Tri-City answered with a breakaway tally in the late moments of the first to even things at intermission.
The second period proved to be chippier than any other throughout the weekend with the Capitols giving up two goals to Tri-City to trail for the first time on the weekend early on in the period.
The Storm were able to add another in the third to extend the lead to 4-1 and skated away with the victory.
Carsen Musser stopped 29 of 33 Tri-City shots on net in the contest. The goaltender has now lost three of his last four contests while allowing ten total goals in that stretch.
