Nagel Picks Up Pair of Points, Caps Fall 4-2

Madison falls to 18-17-4-2 on the season.

Celebrating his 100th USHL game in style, Max Nagel scored and registered an assist in the Capitols 4-2 loss against Youngstown on Saturday night. His goal opened the scoring on the power play for Madison.

Madison falls to 18-17-4-2 on the season after being unable to convert a two-goal lead into points. The Caps scored both of their goals in the first ten minutes of the game, which had a sold out crowd providing a great atmosphere.

Aiden Long scored the Capitols other goal with the primary, and only, assist going to Max Nagel. For Long, the goal was his fifth of the season.

Madison outshot Youngstown 10-6 through first twenty minutes of action on Saturday, but the Phantoms turned a corner and outshot the Capitols 16-14 the rest of the game. Youngstown scored four unanswered to end the game including an empty netter in the final minute of regulation.

The Capitols will look to bounce back on Sunday in Chicago as they face off against the Steel. The two teams are tied for fifth place in the Eastern Conference Standings.

Puck drop on Sunday is set for 3:05 pm in Geneva.

The Caps return home on Saturday to face off against the conference leading Dubuque Fighting Saints. It's Make-A-Wish Night presented by Bergstrom Automotive, as we will be helping the Make-A-Wish foundation all night long. Tickets are still on sale at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
