Andrew Kuzma tallied his 18th career goal on Sunday afternoon as the Capitols fell to Chicago by a score of 3-1. The loss marked the second straight for Madison, seventh in their past nine games.
Despite outshooting Chicago 38-27, the Capitols were unable to get anything besides the Kuzma goal past goaltender Quentin Sigurdson, who was making his USHL debut.
Carsen Musser stopped 24 of 26 shots on goal for Madison in the contest as he played in his third straight game for the Caps. He has allowed 3 or less in 14 of his last 19 games for Madison, but the goaltender has only picked up one win over the past six games.
The Capitols capped off an otherwise unsuccessful weekend with a bright spot coming from the team's power play units. On the weekend, Madison went 4/13 on the man advantage, scoring at least once in each game.
On Saturday, the Capitols will host their annual Make-A-Wish Night presented by Bergstrom Automotive. It's the team's lone home game of the weekend, and tickets are still available and can be found at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
