Madison improves to 22-19-4-2 on the season with the victory and inches closer to fourth placed Youngstown who fell at home to Dubuque on Saturday night. The Capitols extend their winning streak to four games, which is tied for the season long for Madison.
Colton Jamieson tallied his second goal of the season late in the first period. The goal was assisted by Chris Delaney and Max Nagel, which was both players 22nd assist of the season. The Jamieson tally was the only goal scored in the first forty minutes of action.
In the third, Madison's offense put the pedal to the metal scoring four times. Austin Burnevik scored twice in the third, which keeps him one back of Kaden Shahan of Sioux City for the league lead in that category.
Diego Johnson scored for the second straight night for his third of the season. All three goals have come in the last five games for Johnson. He has four points over that stretch.
Scoring the final tally of the night for the Capitols was Ronan O'Donnell. The goal was his third of the season, first not against Chicago. He was later shown to the locker room early with a 10-minute misconduct late in the third.
Madison will take their four-game winning streak into Wednesday night's game against the Green Bay Gamblers. Tickets for all Caps games can be found online at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
