After coming back from a 3-goal deficit, Madison lost to Chicago in just 22 seconds into overtime Friday night.
Chicago forward Ashton Schultz got the game-winning goal for the Steel, redeeming himself from a game-losing turnover in overtime to Colton Jamieson a few weeks ago in Chicago.
The Steel scored three goals in the first period. Ajay White saved 10 of 13 that came his way, and Caleb Heil was switched in at the start of the second period, going perfect the whole game until overtime.
Mason Moe scored the first two goals for Madison, one of which was on the power play, making this his third straight game with two points.Â
Forward Brendan Tighe also scored for the Capitols, snapping a 9 game point drought since December against Muskegon.
Chicago goalie Jack Parons had an impressive night, saving 25 of 28 shots from Madison. Parsons has the tenth-best save percentage in the league at .899.
The Capitols close out their series against the Chicago Steel 6-2 and look to bounce back Saturday night against Dubuque, who are currently first in the Eastern Conference.
