The United States Hockey League announced the finalists for the first Gaudreau Award. Aiden Long was chosen as the finalist to represent the Capitols organization.
The Gaudreau Award was announced in January as a yearly honor bestowed upon the player in the league who best embodies the legacy of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. There are three pillars to The Gaudreau Award that nominees must follow: Excellence in Hockey, Spirit of the Game, and Care and Responsibility.
Long has a career-high 57 points and continues to make a big impact on the ice, yet he's an integral part of Madison's locker room as well. The Cornell commit gets praise for his work ethic and positive attitude, and he constantly lifts his teammates up. Long is also actively involved in the Madison community and always looking to make a difference.
The Gaudreau Award winner will be announced at the winner's final game of the regular season on Saturday night.
