The Capitols look to have more names affiliated with the organization have their names called this weekend as part of the 2026 NHL Draft. The draft is being held in Buffalo, New York, at the KeyBank Center.
Madison has had 31 players selected in the NHL Draft during the team's history, which includes 17 since the team returned to the USHL in 2014. The team looks to extend its streak of four straight seasons with multiple players selected.Â
The Capitols have active players, affiliates, and alumni that are looking to hear their name called. Those players include Egor Barabanov, Bobby Cowan, Cash Cruitt, Nolen Geerdes, Michal Jakubec, Jet Kwajah, Elliot Lennon, and Caleb Pittsley. All of those players are considered notable prospects by Elite Prospects.
In 2025, Ryker Lee became the first Capitols player selected in the first round in team history. He was selected by Nashville with the 26th overall selection. Madison had its most draft picks in a single season since 1989 with three in the draft.
The first round of the draft is scheduled for Friday, June 25, at 6 p.m. CT with coverage on ESPN. Rounds 2-7 will take place on Saturday, June 26, starting at 10 a.m. CT with coverage on NHL Network.
