DEFOREST, Wisc. – The Madison Capitols' 2026-27 United States Hockey League (USHL) regular season schedule was released today. The Capitols open their brand-new arena, LEGACY20 Arena at DeForest Yards, on Saturday, October 17 against the Chicago Steel.
 
The 2026-27 schedule consists of 62 games – 30 home contests, 30 road contests, and 2 neutral site games at the Fall Classic. Madison's home schedule features 24 games on Friday's and Saturday's (13 on Friday and 11 on Saturday) to go along with two games on Wednesday and four Sunday afternoon games. January holds the most home games in a month this season with eight. The Capitols' longest homestand is six games, January 15-29.
 
Madison is scheduled to start seven of the team's eleven Saturday home games at 6:05 p.m. this season. Last season, the Capitols did not have a home game start before 7:05 p.m. unless it was scheduled on a Sunday. Sunday home games have puck drop scheduled for 3:05 p.m. besides Jan. 17 against Chicago, which will start at 4:05 p.m.
 
The Capitols open the season with the USHL Fall Classic in Chicago. The event spans from September 16-20 at USG Arena, the new home of the Chicago Steel. Opponents along with dates and times of the team's two games at the Fall Classic will be announced at a later date.
 
Among the 60 games this season, Madison will face in-state rival Green Bay ten times, the most the Capitols will play against any opponent. The Capitols swept the Gamblers in the first round of the 2026 Clark Cup playoffs in April.
