The Madison Capitols announced Thursday that forward Jackson Nevers will serve as the fifteenth captain of the Capitols in the team's Tier I era. Nevers is an Edina, Minnesota, native and is committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Minnesota.
"One of [Nevers] best qualities is his leadership," said Capitols Head Coach and General Manager Andy Brandt. He commands the room, and it's usually through his work ethic. He does a great job on the ice pushing pace and being a leader through how he plays the game. He does a good job connecting with the young guys as well."
Madison acquired Nevers in November of last season from Waterloo in exchange for draft capital. In 33 games with the Capitols, Nevers registered twelve points during the 2024-25 season battling through injury in the second half of the season.
