The Capitols announced on Thursday that the team has completed the trade made in early May with Waterloo. In the trade, Madison acquired forward Rio Treharne in exchange for Waterloo's 2026 Phase II fifth round selection and future considerations. The team announced today that the team has sent defenseman Chris Baird-Gajdos to the Black Hawks as the future considerations of the deal.

Baird-Gajdos skated in 49 regular season games with the Capitols this season registering thirteen points including three goals. He added on an assist in eleven playoff games with Madison on the team's trip to the Eastern Conference Final.
