NHL Central Scouting released their Preliminary Players to Watch list on Monday. Three active Capitols along with two affiliated players were also named to the list.
Capitols goaltender Cash Cruitt finds himself on the list as a "W", which means that he is a 6th or 7th round candidate in the eyes of NHLCS. Cruitt is in his first season with the Capitols after being selected in the 2024 Phase II Draft. This is the second straight season with a netminder on the preliminary list for Madison after Caleb Heil was also listed as a "W" last season.
Jet Kwajah finds himself as a Player to Watch as a "W" in his second season in the USHL. Kwajah is committed to Penn State after being named to the All-USHL Rookie First Team last season. The 2024 Tender is the first Capitols defenseman to find themselves on the list since Will Felicio, coincidentally also a tender, was named to the list two seasons ago.
First-year forward Caleb Pittsley is the final active Capitols player to find himself on the Players to Watch list as a "W". Pittsley was selected by Madison in the 2025 Phase II Draft and made his commitment to Augustana earlier this offseason. The forward played in an exhibition game with the NTDP U18's against the University of Wisconsin earlier this month.
The two affiliated players on the list are Landon Amrhein(B) and Elliot Lennon(W).
