Caleb Heil made his return from international competition with a bang this weekend collecting two wins and his third USHL Goaltender of the Week honor of the 2025-26 season.
The Lightning draft pick made his first start since November 21st on Friday night against Waterloo. Heil saw 18 shots come his way and managed to keep each and everyone out of the net to collect his second shutout of the season. The shutout marked two straight for Heil in USHL play who broke a Capitols record with 146:55 straight of shutout hockey over the weekend.
Saturday, Heil stopped 22/24 in goal in Cedar Rapids helping the Capitols collect the 3-2 overtime win over the RoughRiders. The two wins over the weekend for Heil make it five straight for the North Dakota commit with his last regulation loss coming on October 31st. The game on Oct. 31 was also Heil's last game where he allowed more than three goals.
This marks the seventh time that Heil has taken home the Goaltender of the Week honors in his career.
