Madison Clinches Berth In Clark Cup Playoffs
The Madison Capitols clinched the final spot in the Clark Cup Playoffs last weekend with a win over the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday night. This marks the third consecutive season head coach Andy Brandt has led the Capitols to the postseason, becoming the first head coach in the Capitols Tier 1 era to reach the playoffs in each of his first three seasons.

Madison will enter the playoffs as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the third seed in the first round in a best-of-three series.

Caleb Heil Named Finalist For The Gaudreau Award
The United States Hockey League announced the finalists for the Gaudreau Award last week. Capitols goaltender Caleb Heil was selected to represent the organization.

The Gaudreau Award was introduced in January 2025 as an annual honor recognizing the player who best embodies the legacy of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. The award is based on three pillars: excellence in hockey, spirit of the game, and care and responsibility.

Heil has posted a 24-12-0-3 record with Madison this season and owns the league's third-best goals-against average at 2.34. He represented Team USA at the World Junior Championship in Minnesota, making two starts and posting a 2-0 record.

Heil also appeared in his third consecutive World Junior A Challenge in Quebec, where he helped Team USA capture a second straight gold medal under Capitols head coach Andy Brandt.

The Gaudreau Award winner will be announced at the recipient's final home game of the regular season.
