Capitols goaltender Caleb Heil has been named the USHL Goaltender of the Week after another stellar weekend in the crease. The North Dakota commit earned two wins, allowing just one goal in each game as Madison defeated the USNTDP U17s on Friday and Waterloo on Saturday.
Heil stopped 20 of 21 shots in Friday's 8–1 victory before turning aside 21 of 22 in a 3–1 win the following night. Through four starts this season, Heil holds a 2.02 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage, and a 3-1-0-0 record.
The Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick has yet to allow more than three goals in a game this season, continuing to anchor Madison's strong defensive play.
It marks the second straight week that a Capitols player has earned league recognition after forward Sam Kappell was named USHL Forward of the Week last week. For Heil, this is his fifth career Goaltender of the Week honor since joining the Capitols in May 2024.
