Another Three-in-Three Weekend for the Capitols
The Madison Capitols will play three games in three days for the second consecutive weekend. The Capitols will host the Chicago Steel for the third time in as many games on Friday night. Madison will then travel to Chicago to complete the four-game series with the Steel on Saturday night before returning home on Sunday to face the Dubuque Fighting Saints.Â
The Steel swept the Capitols last weekend in the first half of the series, with one game ending in a shootout. Both games were low-scoring affairs, totaling only six goals combined. Saturday's game will be the first time the Capitols have traveled to Chicago since October. The Steel are seventh in the Eastern Conference, one point behind the Capitols.
The Capitols will host the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Sunday for the first time since October. The Fighting Saints have visited Madison twice this year, splitting the pair. Dubuque controls the season series, 2-1. With a record of 24-10-2-0, Dubuque sits at third place in the Eastern Conference. The Fighting Saints own the league's top power play at 29.9%, while the Capitols rank among the top five while on the penalty kill at 80.9%.
